God of War 6 Release Date: February 2027 Update and What Comes Next

The God of War 6 release date question now has a clearer answer—but there’s an important catch. Sony has confirmed God of War Laufey for February 16, 2027, while the next Kratos-led adventure still has no release date.

To save her family, Faye must fight gods and creatures drawn from several mythologies. That setup gives Santa Monica Studio room to move beyond the Nine Realms without immediately sending Kratos to Egypt, Japan, or another rumored location.

Faye won’t feel like a Kratos skin with a different voice. Santa Monica Studio says her combat focuses on speed, control, aerial movement, and relentless attacks.

Yes, but this is where the real God of War 6 release date rumors begin. During a San Diego Comic-Con panel, Santa Monica Studio creative head Cory Barlog confirmed that another Kratos-led game will follow Laufey and connect directly to its events.

Could It Explore Egyptian Mythology?

Egypt remains the most common fan theory, while Celtic, Japanese, and Mayan mythology also appear in online discussions. None of these settings has been confirmed for the next Kratos game.

The Everywhen could act as a bridge between different divine worlds, but that’s an inference from Laufey’s premise—not an announcement. We’ll probably understand Kratos’ next destination only after playing Faye’s story.

God of War Laufey Price and Availability

God of War Laufey can currently be added to wishlists on the PlayStation Store. Sony hasn’t opened pre-orders or revealed the available editions and prices.
